Help by singing our Petition for Investigation:
This petition is addressed to the Governor, Chief Justice, and Attorney
General of Maine, the Speaker and Members of the Maine House of
Representatives, and the President and members of the Maine Senate. It
requests a complete, fair and independent investigation of the Dennis
Dechaine Case. In spite of the Attorney General's three-person
commission to investigate allegations of misconduct, this has not
happened. Here is the letter
chartering the commission, and here is their report.
You can endorse the electronic version of our Petition for
Investigation with an email
to the webmaster (include your name and town, please). Or you can
print out the hard
copy of the petition and signing it and mailing it to Trial &
Error. If you print out the petition, you can have others sign it as
well. By the end of 2004, we had presented 6,000 signatures to the
Governor's office. We would like to continue gatherins signatures until
a complete
investigation is initiated.
